David Stephenson (1955)
David Stephenson estudió en la Universidad de Colorado y en la Universidad de Mexico, donde completó sus estudios con Master en Fine Arts en 1982. Se mudó a Australia donde ocuparía una plaza como profesor en la Escuela de Artes de la Universidad de Tasmania, en la que realizó un doctorado en Bellas Artes en 2001. Su fascinación por lo sublime y el tiempo, le ha hecho viajar alrededor de todo el mundo .
Sus fotografias han estado expuestas internacionalmente, incluyendo exposiciones en Art Gallery of New South Wales (1993), the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (1994), the Paisley Museum and Art Gallery, Scotland (1995), the National Gallery of Victoria, (1998), the Cleveland Museum of Art (2001), y the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (2001). Además su trabajo está representado por numerosas colecciones privadas y públicas entre las que se incluyen the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Art Gallery of South Australia, the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, the National Gallery of Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria, the Queensland Art Gallery, the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, the International Museum of Photography and Film at George Eastman House, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, y the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
